Tenant Involvement

Every tenant has a voice. Every voice is heard.

Over 100 tenants helped shape our new strategy in 2026

Here's how we listen, the ways you can get involved, and what's changed as a result.

Ways to get involved

  • Neighbourhood walkabouts (51% most popular) — Walk your scheme with us, point out what needs fixing, and see it logged into an action plan on the spot.
  • Tenant Voice (flagship group) — Our relaunched tenant panel: formal meetings, informal chats, and tenant-chosen “deep dives” into the services that matter most.
  • Online engagement (34% interested) — Surveys, discussion forums and updates — get involved from your phone or laptop, whenever suits you.
  • Mystery shopping (30% interested) — Trained and paid to test our services first-hand — repairs, complaints and customer service, from your point of view.
  • Scrutiny groups (task & finish) — Short, focused groups digging into one service — repairs, complaints handling or anti-social behaviour — then reporting back.
  • Community events (38% interested) — From Windrush celebrations to money-matters drop-ins — at least eight events a year, open to everyone.

Making sure we hear from everyone

A high response number isn't enough on its own — we wanted to know who was responding, and who wasn't. So we compared our survey responses against our full tenant base of 1,106 households.

  • Black British tenants — our largest single tenant group at 46% of our tenant base — made up only 34% of survey responses, a 12-point gap.
  • Female tenants (60% of our tenant base, 52% of responses) and General Needs tenants (83% vs 75%) were also underrepresented, as were tenants aged 25–44.

We're not treating this as a one-off finding. Over the next two quarters, we're partnering with community and faith groups tenants already trust, recruiting tenant ambassadors, taking involvement out into the community at events like our Windrush celebrations, and offering more flexible digital-first ways to get involved.
